Hey friends, hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving with your families. As for me, I had a great time enjoying the company of family and friends. I even got a chance to go out and celebrate one of my girlfriends birthday’s. Lord knows after the induced food coma, I wanted nothing more than to revert to my “Netflix & Chill” mode, but I couldn’t leave my girl hanging on her birthday and made it happen because….YOLO!
Thanksgiving marks the commencement of the Holiday season. With Nemiah’s birthday three days before Christmas, it is definitely the moment where I have to hit the ground running.
In less than a month’s time she will be the BIG 13! How we arrived at 13 so fast, I don’t know, but what I do know is that it is not slowing down to pacify this heart of mine.
Early on, I decided to throw big parties for milestone birthdays and cut a cake at home for the years in between. This method not only saved money overall, but it also made planning parties that much more fun. She was still showered with gifts just not a full blown party on those off years.
Imagine having to plan a 13th birthday bash for an incoming teen in the midst of holiday season? It’s a heck of a job, however, I do it with pleasure. It’s a blessing to get to watch the way my child moves about in this thing called life, which is why I cannot wait to share the passion project I’ll be revealing soon.
Between Nemiah’s birthday, Christmas, my wedding anniversary coming up, and the new year, my plate is full. Life would not be what it is without all these wonderful events that make the world go ’round. To see how I make it all happen, be sure to follow me on Instagram @cassanie.
